Home / Bespoke Projects / Funeral Home Fit-Out
Our customer was in the process of relocating to a new premise in a Devon Market Town where they already had a presence. They had previously purchased a fridge and racking from a one-man band whose workmanship is truly appalling. A lot of money was being spent on creating a high-class Funeral Home with the added benefit of a Celebrant’s Chapel to ensure local residents were truly looked after.
The building was split across two levels, the rear car park and the shop ground floor which had a 1 metre height difference. A site visit was undertaken, and various options were discussed with the customer taking on board our advice to ensure everything worked how they wanted it to.
The rear window of the building was removed, and a triple door system was put in to provide rear access to the building and doors to bring Clients into the Funeral Home. A pit was dug out, with suitable drainage placed within. A bespoke stainless-steel heavy-duty lift was manufactured by us specifically for this set up. Operating switches located both inside and outside with appropriate isolator switches to prevent unauthorised use out of hours were installed. A folding ramp was fitted at either end to ensure door thresholds and pit surrounds did not pose a problem for staff.
To finish this off Tom and Reg installed a 3 door fridge with remote split refrigeration to complete the installation. A heavy duty low level Twigg trolley complemented the installation meaning the customer has a Branch where they can easily manage obese bodies as the whole set up has all been supplied and designed with this in mind.
